Your Turn – Cheap Baby Toys

I just got this email from Cindy and thought I’d throw it open,
“Do any of your followers have any idea where I can pick up some cheap or used baby toys? I’m looking for the sturdy ones like the Sassy brand rattles. I have a 10 week old Chihuahua puppy that is teething. I’ve checked most of the local thrift stores in the Porter County area and can’t find any. Suggestions are welcome”
I love garage sales for this kind of thing and have always done well there but if you have other ideas, please leave a comment!

  1. Also, you can check at ‘Once Upon a Child’. I know there is one on 41 in the Highland/Schererville, IN area.

What about “Once Upon a Child” in Highland?? It is on 41 at the intersection with Main Street (just south of Target in the shopping plaza that includes a Payless shoe store and a Starbucks).

Craig’s List is a good source for baby toys, especially larger ones like exersaucers, swings, bouncies, etc. Once could also put a “wanted” posting out on Freecycle.org. There are bound to be a few parents who wouldn’t mind getting rid of some of the smaller baby toys that their kids no longer use. Per the name, “freecycle”, the items would be free, but it is considered good etiquette to pick up said free items. (I love freecycle!)

I have gotten good baby toys off of freecycle.
