Your Fave Moment of 2009 Contest

My first year of motherhood (after 9 years of marriage!) has been a crazy ride of mostly ups and some downs, sleep and lack their of, mostly highs and a couple of lows (sleep-related!) but this bundle of joy has warmed our heart and turned our life around like even 3 years in Thailand couldn’t. Every day I thank God that I’m blessed to be his Mummy. As I was thinking back on this year I thought of a favourite moment. Don’t get me wrong there’s been many milestones that have been unforgettable but him at 4 days old broguht me to tears. From Day 1 the nurses told us he had a strong head but the above picture is when he was only 4 days old. I woke up and brought him into the living room and as I spoke to him he pulled back his head to look at me! He’s a super nosey kid now but that day so many months ago warmed my heart and brought me to tears. I love you oodles, baby boy!!

So today’s contest is about your favourite memory this year of your kids or if you don’t have them, another fave memory. It’s a time to brag on children or remember what made us happy this year.

I just got the chance to try the new Fruit Roll-Ups from General Mills where you can customize a box (30 rolls) of them. Sure I could have made them as favours for Isaac’s Birthday party but Hubby loves roll-ups so I made some red Valentine’s ones for him, complete with a picture of the two of us on there! Tres cool! I’m also giving away a box. I’m happy that my contests are so diverse and hope that this week we’ll have a bunch of entrants wanting to grab some Fruit Roll-Ups!

All you’ve got to do to win a box of 30 customizable Fruit Roll-Ups is answer this question in the comment section:-
“What is your favourite memory this year?”

Want more ways to win? Blog about the contest on your site and lemme know.

Contest closes on Sunday January 4th at midnight and the winner will be picked randomly (by random.org) and announced on Monday January 5th. Don’t forget to leave a way for me to contact you!

  1. My favorite moment of 2008 has to be my families trip to Disney and the look of absolute amazement on my daughters face when she meet the princesses for the first time. When I think about the look on her face it still gives me that feeling of pure joy and wanting to cry. It was amazing and we can’t wait to go back!

  2. Oh gosh, I have so many different memories – funny ones, sweet ones, etc. But I think I’d say it was something that just happened recently. We found out that my daughter had so much fluid behind her ears that she had lost 30% of her hearing. Since she also has constant ear infections and colds, it was tubes and adenoids for her. (Just 2 weeks ago!) Well, earlier this week she was sitting on the couch and turned to my husband and said, “Daddy – I can hear better!!” We were so worried about the anesthetic but knew the surgery was the right thing to do. That proved that it was. Poor little girl.

Johnny Depp is my all-time favorite actor!! He came to Crown Point in late March to film parts of his new movie “Public Enemies.” I hung out all 3 days he was in town because this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I never really thought would happen for me. I mean, who thinks they will ever really get to see their favorite celebrity, let alone in their hometown!!?? I was able to shake his hand not once, but three times!!! And got to speak with him on two of those occasions. He is so gracious!! My husband even got him on video (that he uploaded to YouTube) when Johnny responds to him and tips his hat! I love him!! This is a memory for the ages (well, in my humble opinion)!!

Mine would have to be giving birth to our 2nd son in August. My first was a c-section that I felt very uninvolved with. To be able to have him naturally this time was amazing. As was holding him and nursing him within minutes of his birth (I had to wait hours before even holding my first)

Seeing the two interact brings me joy everyday.

    thanks!

  5. My favorite memory is recent. My younger son, Will, turned two in August, and he finally started to talk (I was starting to be concerned). Anyway, he is such a chatterbox now! My favorite memory from 2008 is of Will saying, “Merry Kwissmass to you!” over and over again in his sweet, baby voice!

  8. One of my favorite moments this year would be recently when my daughter, who is 5, and I went to Target and she asked me to buy one of those window clings. I told her I would only if they had a nativity type one….so we searched and found one. She carried that window cling around holding it up for others to see until we payed because she said she wanted to show everyone in Target the “true meaning of Christmas!!!” It was the most precious thing ever!!! I think I might have a little evangelist on my hands.
Happy new year to you all!! May you have everything you need this year!

  9. My favourite memory of this year was the birth of my first niece, Avery back in May.

  10. My favorite memory of this year is getting engaged to the man of my dreams. I will never forget it and I can’t wait to get married. Thanks for the giveaway! I would put these fruit roll ups in his lunch.

  11. My favorite memory is moving into our dream house. Its just the right size for our family and we were able to have my husband’s family stay. It was the first time in 5 years all the family was together, so it was nice to have room for everyone and enjoy their company.

  12. Hard to narrow it down. 2008 has really been the year of Facebook for me. Although I joined in 2007, ’08 has been the year I’ve been able to get back in contact with so many old friends from all over the world. It’s been such a blessing. A couple other quickies:

*Watching the sunrise over Lake Michigan from the window if my sister’s fabulous Chicago condo

*Meeting one of my favorite authors, Shaunti Feldhahn, and hanging out with her

*My husband giving up TV for lent-no TV for six weeks- so much more free time

*Having a girls overnight with the fabulous Margaret Stunt-having wine and cheese in our p.j.’s with all the free counseling I could throw at her- Amazing

And the list goes on. God has been so faithful!

My favorite moment in 2008 is…my daughter she is 2 yrs old and she just amazes me every day. She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and every morning and night she is asking to watch “Miwkey Mouse
Cubhouse” I think we have seen every episodes.

  14. I think the highlight of 2008 was my 20th wedding anniversary. My husband and I are high-school sweethearts and we got married right after I graduated from high school. I know everybody must have thought that we would never make it, and I’m sure I would have thought the same thing! Thankfully, our parents had faith in us and I am so grateful that my husband and I have had 20 wonderful years together and 3 fabulous kids. Thanks for the great prize opportunity!

  15. Did you mean to say 2008 instead of 2009? I just noticed that on the the post title, LOL!!!

My favorite memory of 2008 was when my mom had surgery to remove a malignant tumor from her lung and she came through it beautifully…not that the cancer was the highlight, of course, but the fact that she sailed through it ok.

    Love this blog!

  16. My favorite moment of 2008 was moving from a home with 1 bath to a home in NWI with my husband and 6 kids that has 4 toilets!!!! Yippee!!! God has richly blessed our family…To HIM be all the glory!
