Win Heaven is for Real For Little Ones

I don’t know about you but the thought of explaining heaven to a 2 and 5 year old is a little daunting which is why I was glad last year that we got to check out Heaven is for Real book. Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy’s Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back is a 2010 New York Times best-selling Christian book written by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent. The book documents a near-death experience by Burpo’s then-four-year-old son, Colton, after which he began saying he had visited Heaven. Todd Burpo, a Christian pastor, says that during the months after emergency surgery, Colton began describing events and people that seemed impossible for him to have seen or met. Examples include his miscarried sister, who no one had told him about, and his great grandfather who died 30 years before Colton was born.

Heaven is for Real for Little Ones is a beautifully illustrated hard cover book that is best for ages 1-4 but works for all youngsters in my opinion as it explains heaven as simply as possibly and the images that Colton saw. It’s a Simplified telling of Colton’s story and child-friendly art encourages little ones that Jesus really, really loves them and helps Parents and grandparents introduce the concept of heaven to toddlers and preschoolers. We really like the book and have already read it to our kids a few times.

  1. My 6 year old daughter was given this book in October when her father, my husband unexpectedly died. I cannot say enough good things about it. We read it every night for 3 months and it helped her so much. The book does an amazing job of helping kids try to understand and visualize heaven. If you need help explaining death and the afterlife to your child, you need this book.

    • Oh my goodness Abby, I am so sorry to hear about your Husband. Big virtual hugs to you and your daughter and thank you for the sweet comment!
