“Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Savers Voices program and have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.”
Last weekend I headed downtown to Chicago to participate in the Verizon Savers Voices program. As I love a good Mummy-cation and learning about new technology I was excited to participate.
When we got there it took us a while to figure out the clues they’d sent like, “Your new device will SAVE you time and predict your next move” until we saw the big Blackberry bag that our trainer was carrying! Yup we each received the newest in Blackberry phones – the Blackberry Z10.
Many smartphone users fall in love with one brand and stick with it but I’ve been surprised how much “cult following” there is with the Blackberry line. I’m sure you’ve all heard of the term Crackberry to describe how addicted users were and that word became the 2006 word of the year at Webster’s New World(R) College Dictionary.
The BlackBerry is a line of wireless handheld devices and services designed and marketed by Research In Motion Limited (RIM) operating as BlackBerry. The first BlackBerry device, an email pager, was released in 1999 but has significantly improved since then and for the next 6 months I’m checking it out and will report back with my honest review. Here’s a couple of things I’ve noticed so far:
It takes a-mazzzzzzzing pictures! The above picture was snapped quickly on my phone and you would never know it. I have a Cannon camera and after taking pictures on that and then with my phone I chose the phone pictures to use in an upcoming blog piece.
Sadly there aren’t a lot of apps and my favorite Instagram is not yet developed but apparently there’s a workaround so where there’s a will there’s a way!
