Tips and Tricks

One way to save money is to freeze ahead. Most of us have busy schedules with kids, school events, church functions and other things but we still want to save money. This takes preparation and a little planning.

My mother in law and I always stock up on sales and freeze. (Her recipe for freezing corn is here. Here she talks about freezing coleslaw. )
Today was no different. Sweet potatoes are $.28/LB over at Ultra so we bought several pounds and are in the middle of baking them to freeze.
Yeah we bought a lot!!

First we washed them.

Then we scrubbed them, prodded them with a fork, and wrapped them in foil. Right now they’re baking in the oven at 400* until they’re soft.

We’ll be back from Mama B’s kitchen a little later on………………
