"The One You’re All Gonna Want to Win" Giveaway

Read on to win a GREAT prize!! Well, I know that some of you shy away from contests thinking you probably won’t win anyway. I know that some people figure it’s not worth trying but I have a funny feeling that this is going to bring people out of the woodwork!!!!

I’m a gift person. I love giving and I won’t lie, I love receiving. Especially flowers. Hubby knows that all he has to do to make me swoon is grab a bunch of flowers from the store and bring them home. I love it when he buys me them and although they’re not expensive I don’t get them as often as I like. In fact in a survey done by the California Cut Flowers Commission, it appears that I’m not alone. 42% of women don’t receive flowers as often as they would like which if you ask me sounds like an awfully low number!!!!

To help out with that they’ve created these cool “Hint Cards” that you can place at various spots around the house reminding that special someone how much you love flowers. These Hint Cards incorporate a little romance or a little humor and are the perfect size to be left under pillows, inside lunch bags, stuck on mirrors, tucked in billfolds, placed on plates or just delivered from hand to hand.

Did you know that the California’s cut flower industry generates $10.3 billion in economic impact for the State of California? The cut flower industry overall generates 121,950 California jobs and $3.3 billion in wages for other industries which in this day and age is pretty cool.

Before they debut these cards in retailers and florists across the state later this year, the CCFC would love your feedback. So they’re offering 25 of my readers the pporunity to win some of the cards. Then, if you enter the survey here you’ll been entered to win a bunch of flowers every month for a year which would be awesome!

To make it even better, the folks over at Fleisman Hillard arranged for me to receive a bunch of these amazing flowers which were absolutely amazing and lasted quite a while. They were just beautiful flowers (full of my favourite gerber daisies) and they’re going to give one of my readers a bunch of flowers too!!! Told you this was gonna be a goodie!

So, here’s the scoop: I have 25 sets of hint cards and a bunch of flowers to give away! To enter all you’ve got to do is leave a comment telling me why you want the flowers. Then, to make it unbiased I’ll randomly pick 25 winners and the folks at Fleishman will pick their favourite answer out of all the comments to win the flowers.

Want more ways to win?
1) Write about it on your blog and then let me know you did it.
2) Subscribe to Mummy Deals. All new subscriptions (dated 6/30/09 onwards) will get one more entry.
3) Follow me. You need to have a blog to do this and then add me from your dashboard.

Contest ends on Sunday July 12 at midnight and the winner will be picked and announced on Monday July 13. You must leave an email address or way for me to contact you!

New around here? Welcome! I’m a frugal Mum from England who loves scoping out bargains and saving money. My family of 3 lives on a grocery budget of $50/week (including diapers) and on my site I show you the ropes of how to do it while having a good ole time!

I would love the flowers but actually to splurge on a friend who is sitting by her mother's death bed as I write. I would be wonderful to give her a fabulous bunch of flowers to greet her upon her return home.
Nothing would brighten her home more than a vibrant bunch of flowers to remind her that others care!

  2. I would love flowers! I love to bring the outdoors in and spread a little peace through our bustling home!
    Thanks for the opportunity!

  3. Why? Does a girl really NEED a reason?
Well if you must have one……. Flowers liven up and beautify my home. They make me feel alive and colorful and when I have them in my home it make me want to invite friends over, (no silly not just to show them off) but to share the beauty and happiness they bring to each of us.
    Thank you!

I LOVE fresh flowers from the garden, cut, in a bouquet, however and wherever! I would love to arrange flowers for a living but that is a developing dream… I would LOVE to win flowers every month! One of my favorite sayings, "Earth laughs in flowers…" by Ralph Waldo Emerson. Can't wait… Sheree

I would love to win flowers!!! The reason I would love to win flowers is for my little girls. My oldest daughter (4) has taken after my mom and has quite the green thumb. We planted some seeds this year in pots and she can't wait until they bloom later in the summer. For the time being it would be great to have some flowers to display on our kitchen table. Dh lost his job for 4 months earlier this year and had to take a large pay cut and his new job so we can't afford those luxuries at this time. Thanks for the opportunity!

  7. I would love these flowers, not for me as a mother, but for my own mother whom has become my hero all over again – not because she has done anything amazing lately but because when I gave birth to my son – the overwhelming sensation of love and understanding – has made me appreciate my own mother a thousand fold. I would love some flowers to brighten up her day!

As a mom to 4 kids ages 6, 4, 2, and 2 months, my day to day life is hard. To compound it, I'm a military wife with a husband who is often gone long periods at a time leaving me living a single mom life. When my husband returns, he often comes up with comments that come out as insensitive about how his job is SO hard and I should be glad I don't have to do any work. No work?! I have FOUR kids! These cards would be a good reminder for me to leave for him of how I need some recognition, and the flowers every month would be good reward to myself for all my hard work having something pretty and fresh smelling in my house whether my husband gets that hint or not! Thanks for the chance to win!

My husband and I live off my wages from teaching 4-K at a preschool, while he is in seminary. We don't have extra money for flowers and such. It would be awesome for me to have something to brighten my day when I get home- to encourage me in my duties at home as well as being a good wife! 🙂 renee

  11. I would love to win these flowers for my aunt, Kathy. Her mother, my grandmother, just became gravely ill and is in hospice care in her home. My aunt works tirelessly all day an night to care for my grandmother. She never asks for help. I think flowers would really brighten up her day. My e-mail is VALLYBELLE@aol.com

I know I'm not the only married woman who stopped getting "just because" flowers after getting married, so I'm speeking out. I really love having fresh flowers in the house and used to get them all the time but a few years laters now I buy myself the flowers and just my husband "aren't the flowers you bought me beautiful?" I quess being on a tight budget just really does not leave room for much.

  13. I love flowers and I used to have a garden where I could grow most of my own. When my hubby wanted to be sweet, he'd just go into the garden and pick a vase full for me. Now we live in the city and it's rare that I get a vase full of pretties anymore. Hubby and I just celebrated our 10 year anniversary and I think these "hint" cards are just the thing I need to remind him of his former romantic self! And I'd love to win some flowers to fill my now empty vases!

    Gerber Daisies…

These are a sweet reminder of my Grandma Lady. When I see the bright, open flower of a Gerber Daisy, I can't resist smiling. To me, the beauty of this elegantly, simple daisy is that wonderful memories of my Grandma come rushing back and I'm far from sad.

  21. one6ylady says:

My oldest child, my son, is allergic to almost all flowers, so for 20 years there have been no live or fresh-cut flowers allowed in the house. The biggest down side of this is that I have never gotten flowers from my husband. Now, my son is away at college, but unfortunately, my husband is so used to NOT getting me flowers that he never thinks of them even though I can now have them. I love flowers, and I have hinted to my hubby so many times that I'd love to have them, but he will not get the hint, and I won't come right out and ask him to buy them for me becuae it would ruin the thought behind them. He needs to want to get them for me without any pressure. I refuse to buy myself flowers because picking them out takes away the thrill of getting them. It would be a dream come true for me to get flowers that I worked to win and didn't pick out myself. It would be more like a reward so it would have special meaning for me. Not only that, when my hubby actually SEES how THRILLED I am about having them around, he's sure to FINALLY take the hint about buying me flowers for our next memorable occasion. 🙂

  26. I love the hint cards idea, maybe I can use them to try to get the kids to help out around the house 🙂 A gift (the flowers) always feels like a reward..especially on those days where you feel like you have cleaned house all day, but still can't see the carpet bcuz the kids have emptied the toy room into the living room to "have somewhere to play".

Ok this is why I want flowers:

When I was a little girl my grandma had flowers in every room. She had a garden full of bright and wonderful flowers and she would constantly fill green glass vases with them and put them all over the house( even in the bathroom) the whole house always smelled like fresh flowers! I have been collecting green glass vases for a few years now. i have well over 10 green glass vases. I have enough green vases for every room in my home…..AND NO FLOWERS!

    I need flowers 🙂

    Thanks!

I would love to win! Not only for me, but I would love to give these as a 'pick-me-up" to my mom. For the last 6 months, my dad has been battling lung, liver, and bone cancer. He is terminal and the doctors say he has less than 3 months to live. I would love to give her a little bit of "sunshine" to brighten her day even it for a brief moment. The last 6 months has brought nothing but pain and sorrow for her as she struggles to take care of him daily. "Love today like there's no tomorrow!"

  43. My daughter brought home the cutest little vase with 3 lovely flowers the other day from my sister-in-laws house. They were cut from her wonderful flower garden. We have no such thing at our house –I have a black thumb, I think– and I saw how happy it made my 5 year old. She loves to put flowers in her hair and dance around and be lovely.

Unfortunately though, I do not have someone to give me flowers, and alas being a single parent, well, flowers are the furthest thing I think of when planning out my monthly budget. So winning this, would be perfect, if not, at least I can count on my garden of flowers for 4 months out of the year to make my spirits bright.

  59. Every girl, young or old, loves flowers…as a little tyke picking them from the neighbor's garden (ooops!) or as a woman, picking up a bouquet from the grocery store to brighten the home. 63. I would love to win these flowers so I could share them with others! I collect flower vases throughout the year. If I won, when I receive my flowers, I would divide them up in smaller bouquets and add ribbons to each vase. I would take them to my elementary school where I am a frequent substitute teacher. (They would like to have me as a permanent classroom teacher, but with budget cuts this year that doesn't seem likely.) I would place some of the flowers in the front office for all children, parents and staff to enjoy, place others by the teacher's mailboxes for more attention, and give a vase to several staff members who have had medical or personal challenges recently. The thing about love and flowers is – the enjoyment is doubled when it is shared! Thanks for considering my proposal!

  82. I love flowers and it amazes me that men haven't figured out that stopping my the grocery store every so often and buying a bunch of flowers for their wives could make such a difference in their wives happiness! My husband RARELY gets me flowers and I wish he would do it to show me that he has been thinking of me.

  83. Flowers have not been making it onto the "grocery list" lately as we are cinching our belts. I miss seeing an arrangement on the kitchen table….the house can be a mess, kids bickering and dinner to get on the table…but dang a few flowers in the midst of all that was enough to make me smile!

  84. I would love to win a bunch of flowers! I had gerbera daisies at my wedding… they're my favorite. I also don't get flowers as often as I'd like. Maybe if I give my husband a nice bouquet it would remind him how nice it is to recieve them!!

It would be wonderful to win flowers!! My friend lost her 3 yr. old in a sudden sickness 4 months ago, and the ebb and flows of grief are real. I would love to pass them on to her. Just to show her that there is beauty around – even in her grief

I would love flowers! My hubby used to buy them for me occasionally, but now he is disabled and home-bound. So needless to say I don't get them any more!

I am going through a rough divorce right now and there are no flowers in my near future, if ever. I have 2 small children and my focus is to be a mommy to them not date so I would love to get flowers from someone!

  97. My "love language" is flowers! I love giving them to my friends, my teenage daughter and, most of all, to myself. Even a few blooms in a small vase changes a cloudy mood, so the gesture doesn't need to cost a lot. (I'm always on the lookout for creative vases at estate and tag sales!) I'd love to win flowers too!

  98. Times are tough, money is tight, stresses are high, kids needs are many, I NEED SOME SUNSHINE IN MY LIFE!!!! Flowers = sunshine!

Ladies love flowers – and Clair for offers like this!

I always tell my husband not to buy me flowers because I don't like them–when really I am too cheap to let him spend the money. (or I guess I can say frugal since that's a hip term now!). I would love to bring a little joy to my crazy life with flowers! Oh yeah.. and I never win anything so it would be nice 🙂
    Thanks!

I became a flower lover since my husband and I were dating 12 years ago! He would bring/send me flowers all the time just to make me smile! Now, after 7 years of marriage, the flowers are coming to a screeeeeching halt!! I would love to get these cards to "drop" hints around the house just to remind him how much I miss that part of our relationship!
    Thank you!!

  105. Woohoo! Just the thought of getting flowers for the whole year makes me excited.

  107. VIA EMAIL: I would love to win the flowers because bringing flowers into your home allows you to bring the beauty of Nature into your home. They brighten up a room, smell wonderful, lift people’s spirits and bring a smile to a persons face even if they do not realize it.

  113. Flowers!!!! Living, vibrant bursts of color that brighten the room and the countenance! What more can I say? I'm not sure why I only wait until people come over to go out and get a bunch. They make me so happy. Guess it's just one of those "luxuries" that I forget to indulge in as I go through everyday life.

  114. WHAT A WAY TO PICK YOU UP AND MAKE YOU HAPPY! THANKS, JO ANN

My husband has always bought me flowers. I thought it would be nice to give him some for a change. What the heck. He does everything for his family. Why not show he's appreciated. It may not be masculine but it'll shock the heck out of him.
