This post brought to you by TABASCO® Original Red. All opinions are 100% mine.
Last week I received a bottle of TABASCO® Original RedGame-Day Party Menu to try out. I have a dear friend who swears by the stuff and I’ve always been intrigued as to what she adds it to. Made some eggs? Add some TABASCO®! Mexican food for dinner? Bring out the red sauce! But, what I didn’t realize is that this little bottle of flavoring can be added to a variety of different products including mac & cheese, salad dressing and even pizza. Who’d have thunk it? I guess it’s all about adding the flavor to your food and spicing it up a little.
In fact, TABASCO® has even created 10 ways to use it on pizzas called Pizza Perfected that you can check out for different ways to make pizza during these cold days.
Did you know TABASCO® has been around since 1868? How wild is that??!!! Products that have stood the test of time are always worth a look! TABASCO® Original Red is not about heat for heat’s sake. It’s about what heat does to the flavor of food. It’s just 3 inredients – salt, red pepper, and vinegar that are perfected in a 3-year aging process that produces a hot sauce that brings the most out of your food.
One of my favorite Mexican food dishes that goes great with the sauce is Enchilada Casserole. It’s a simple recipe but add a little hot sauce to doctor it up and wamm-o, you’ve got a fab dish that is great to share, simple to freeze and perfect for a Mum-friend who just had a baby (who’s coming over with some?!!) So here’s my take on the classic that serves 4 people:
- 2 lb. ground turkey
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 can enchilada sauce
- 1 pkt. Taco seasoning
- 2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
- 8 soft flour tortillas
- 1 tsp TABASCO
To Serve With
- 1 can refried beans
- Sour cream
- Lettuce, tomatoes – chopped
- In skillet, brown and drain ground turkey.
- Add: tomato sauce, taco seasoning, and TABASCO® .
- Spray a 9×13 pan.
- Add a couple of tablespoons to the middle of each tortilla and roll. Place seam-side down in the pan.
- Repeat the process and try and push them close together.
- Pour the can of enchilada sauce over the top.
- Add the cheese
- Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until cheese bubbles.
- Serve with sour cream, salsa, refried beans, and veggies.
With SuperBowl right around the corner, crack open a bottle of TABASCO® and let me know what creative ways you come up with to use this little bottle of power-packing flavor!
