In truth I should call these Slow Cooker Seven Layer Bars, “six layer bars” as the ones I made were missing the nuts as my friend’s son has a nut allergy. But with or without the nuts they’re delish and an easy dessert to make in the crock pot to avoid using your oven on a hot day or just for convenience.
When I made them I cooked them for 2 hours and the sides were starting to look a little too sunburnt but……………we all tried them and they tasted good. I guess don’t be afraid of a little browning but certainly don’t leave them in for too long.
Although it took a while mine did firm up. When they came out they were all ooey, gooey and good looking but they hardened and became like a real bar so I guess if you like ooey, eat right away! Serve with milk 🙂
