Slow Cooker Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

Well hello fall: tall boots, cozy sweaters, apple picking and pumpkin spice lattes. While I love going out for a Pumpkin Spice Latte as much as the next person I can’t run out all the time for one and I’m also concerned about the hydrogenated whatsit and the other whosits I can’t even pronounce. I mean…..for reals….have you read the back of some of the flavored coffee creamer bottles? It’s like reading a science experiment and Dr Mercola has an article on them here.

A few years ago I adopted a 5 ingredients or less system when looking at packages and if it had more in we didn’t get it. In fact I ended up making this yummy Homemade Pumpkin Spice Syrup.

But today is Slow Cooker Mondays and so a slow cooker recipe I wanted to find…one that smelled like fall! And I wish you guys could smell it but my kitchen smells just like fall right now! I made it in this 4 quart crock pot but you could double the recipe if needed and use a bigger pot.

So in place of milk I used almond milk as we love it’s taste and for the health benefits.  I wasn’t sure if it would taste ok but I was wrong! Yum!  Then instead of whipped topping I used real cream and whipped it.

For the pumpkin taste I added drops of Young living Essential Oils as you can ingest them and they have health benefits too!  If you don’t have those you can buy them here or add 1 tsp pumpkin spice (but I never have that around!)

Slow Cooker Pumpkin Spice Latte

Ingredients

  • 8 cups almond milk. Mine is vanilla flavored and I should have counted that in when adding sugar 🙂
  • 6 cups of strongly brewed coffee. I used decaf
  • 1 cup of organic raw cane sugar (or 1/2 of that if you use sweetened almond milk)
  • 1 cup of canned pumpkin
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 drop of Young Living Clove Oil
  • 1 drop of Young Living Cinnamon Bark oil
  • 1 drop of Young Living Nutmeg Oil
  • Toppings: Real whipping cream and cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients (except toppings) into your crock pot.
  2. Mix well.
  3. Cover and let cook on high for 2 hours.
  4. Serve with cinnamon and real cream.

My plan for the Slow Cooker Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe is to keep it in the fridge this week and keep warming it up on the stove! Yay for time saving 🙂
