Fall is here and your crock pot is probably like mine: permanently ensconsed on my kitchen counter. Most days I dream of something to warm our bellies and when Hubs comes home I’m able to just dish up without much preparation.
My friend Julie sent us this crock pot recipe for Taco Soup which I love because it’s simple: Just empty 4 cans plus a couple of other things and mix in your slow cooker. Yup, nothing is simpler. Plus it’s hearty enough for your brood, kid-friendly (she tried it on picky eaters) and is easy on the wallet too. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1lb hamburger (cooked and drained)
- Medium onion
- 1 can corn - don't drain
- 1 can kidney beans- don't drain
- 3 x 8oz cans of tomato sauce
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 package taco seasoning.
Instructions
- Add all ingredients into the crock pot and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
- Serve with shredded cheddar cheese and tortilla chips
- TO change it up: Add a can of black beans & ranch dressing packet for a twist to it

Do you add the black beans and ranch in with everything else including the taco seasoning?
Yup Alexis, dump it all in and slow cook! Then pretend you worked over a hot stove
