Crock Pot Baked Potatoes

It’s a cold wet day here in Chicagoland and it’s a perfect day for Slow Cooker meals which is why I made these crock pot baked potatoes.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good oven baked potato but it takes too long on a regular week night and sadly I resort to zapping it in the microwave for 7 minutes. But, I’d heard you could make baked potatoes in the crock pot and I wanted to try.

I cooked them on high for 4.5 hours without water or anything else and they came out fine. They weren’t all crisp on top like when you oven bake them which I love but they were fine and if you want something to come home to these are great. We made a night out of it and had “spud you like“! We used to call it that in England where we’d put potatoes on the table with all kinds of fun toppings and you could just top it with whatever. Thus the baked potato becomes the meal and an inexpensive fun Friday one at that!
