Last night I made Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken Legs because last week I made a rookie mistake. Remember the days when you first started cooking and instead of just listening to your Hubby and serving chips with brats you wanted to impress company so you made some potatoes?
Remember how you heated up the oven in 98 degree Chicago heat to make yummy potatoes only to have you and your guests suffer?
Oh wait! Is that just me?
Yes, last Friday my good friend Jill came over with her Hubs and instead of just serving chips it wasn’t until I preheated the oven that I realized what a silly mistake I made and it made the house so hot. Brats on the grill: great idea! Potatoes in the oven: not so much.
So this week I decided I’d make a bunch of things in the crock pot including slow cooker bbq chicken legs! As we love the BW3 chicken wings I thought I’d use the chicken legs I just bought for $.89/pound and try a copycat BW3 Sweet BBQ sauce and ya know what? They were good!
I opted to serve them with just corn. It was hot so none of us felt like a big meal and these were tasty. Not totally the BW3 recipe but good, simple bbq anyway. One thing my Husband hates is a chicken bone but these were already almost off the bone coming out of the crock pot. As we served them the chicken just fell right off – yum!
Hope you enjoy these crock pot bbq chicken legs as much as us; they’re very family friendly!
