When Mariano’s and #CollectiveBias asked me to put together a post to showcase all the great items they have for football games I knew immediately that I wanted to make a Skinny Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken Dip. The original buffalo chicken dip may be a favorite but it’s laden with calories and other ingredients that look like they should be in a science class not a human belly! So I set off to create a yummy dip that was Man Friendly and healthier.
At #MyMariano’s they now have this Health Key which makes it super easy to spot items like “Gluten free” food or “Organic” and make healthier choices. As I’m now eating gluten free I love the fact that I can go there and know right away which items I can and can’t eat. I feel like as a store they’re committed to your health and that’s something I appreciate.
Skinny Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe
If you want to serve a yummy dip during the big game but want to skip some calories then this is perfect. I’m not going to lie, it’s not calorie-less (you’ll have to chew just the celery for that!) but now you can make yummy Skinny Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken Dip with less calories.
Big Game Food at Mariano’s
When we go to Mariano’s we always like to stop for a bite to eat in their atrium and today was no different except today we brought Popa and I can’t wait for him to retire so me and the boys can get in more playdates!
After lunch we headed to Todd’s BBQ for our main ingredient: rotisserie chicken. Todd’s BBQ is not at all Mariano’s but I’m so thankful they have one at ours in Frankfort and so is Tim! Whenever we come we head there for “Man Food”!
I need to point this out. See the arrow? It says NO MSG and Gluten Free. On this gluten free journey I’ve learned that gluten is in a tonnnnnnnnnnnn of things including condiments and other places you wouldn’t expect it…like a chicken. But, not all food is created equal and I was happy to know that I could eat this!
The thing I LOVE about Todd’s is that it’s very reasonably priced and has great items for a football game if you don’t want to cook. The chicken was only $6.99 and a slab of ribs? Just $10! I couldn’t believe it either so we grabbed some for Hubs to make his day (Tim loves Todd’s BBQ ribs!)
The Health Key in action as I grab some Greek Yogurt!
The other thing I found out was that Mariano’s will grill your meat or seafood purchases for free. Perfect for a big game party when you don’t want to cook.
Or….you could just to this…..
I kid not I served this for dinner. A slab of ribs ($10), a rotisserie Amish chicken ($6.99) and 2 Vero mini cups for a total of $18.99. Yes my friends, that is man food and no veggies in sight all ready for a big game!
