ROAK Wednesday

My mail lady is great! Even when it rains she’s got a smile on her face and a kind word to say. Even when she has to stop outside my house to drop off all my freebies before she starts her route, she still greets me every day like she really enjoys her job and cares for the people she’s delivering mail to. That’s why I decided it was high time to give her a little something to let her know I appreciated it. Sure, she gets paid to do her route but when people do really nice things, I want to thank them. It took me a couple of weeks to get around to it but I just got a little bottle of lotion and coupled it with a card that just said thanks. It wasn’t the biggest gift but yet when I gave it to her you could tell she was happy and knowing that made my day. That’s when it got me thinking about an idea I’ve had for a while.
Part of the reason I blog and part of the reason I’d like more and more people to read is that we can encourage each other. As mostly mums or women reading this, we can encourage one another to do extraordinary things. Maybe it’s not something that seems huge to you but sometimes a small gesture can make someone else’s day. Which leads me to this post and my idea:
Every Wednesday will be Random Acts of Kindness Wednesday. I’d love to hear stories of how during the week you’ve gone out of your way to bless someone, help them, or do something out of the ordinary. What I don’t want this to turn into is a “toot your own horn” moment which is why I hesitated in doing this but during my prayer time with God this morning I really felt this could be good for all of us.
So, each week stop by here and either leave a comment or if you have a blog, a link as to how you brightened someone’s day that week. Let’s encourage each other to be extra-ordinary!
