Reminder: Nielsen Panel Hiring in October

The Nielsen Homescan Consumer Panel is now taking NEW applications but it may close at the end of October so hurry today! You may be approved based on your zip code. A friend of mine signed up last time and really likes all the perks as it basically pays you to shop! You earn valuable points, which are redeemable for electronics, household items, jewelry, toy, gift cards, and more.

If you are accepted as a panel member, you will be sent a small hand-held scanner and will scan all the bar codes of everything you buy. They then track spending habits. Your very own scanner? How cool is that! It’d be like registering for a shower every day!

Enter your zip to see if you can get paid to shop today.

  1. This is a nice group, but it is very time consuming! You have to scan everything you buy and put in who went with you to the store, how many of each item you bought, the price, did you use a coupon. If I had a big order, I didn’t have 2 hours to put in this information for each item. Why is it important to know who went with you to the store? I belonged to it for about a year and they finally got rid of me because I didn’t scan things every week. I may of had about 10,000 points and didn’t get to get anything.I didn’t scan them because I just didn’t have that much time to spend. If you have a lot of time to spend or don’t buy much, this is a good group for you. It does have surveys to take which are easy and not very long. Another thing is, to get a decent item with your points, you need a lot of them. It would most likely take you 5 years or more to get something good!
