While you probably know that September is National Honey Month, did you know that the average person in the United States consumes 1 ½ pounds of honey each year? Did you also know that there are over 30 different kinds of honey just in the United States alone? Well, all of that is true and while you may love adding honey to your morning tea, there are other things you can do with honey as well.

Skin Moisturizer

Honey makes a great moisturizer for your skin when you mix it with eggs and flour. Just combine 4 tablespoons of honey with 2 eggs and 3 tablespoons of flour. Stir the ingredients together until it is thick and then use it on your face and hands.

Acne Reducer

While honey is great as a moisturizer, it also works well in getting rid of acne. Just dab a small amount of honey on the acne prone area. Cover the affected areas with bandages and watch the acne disappear.

Sore Throat Reliever

There are those who believe that honey works better for relieving sore throat than any of the over the counter medications. One of the best remedies for sore throat is to combine honey with some lemon juice. Blend it well, drink it and within minutes you will notice relief.
