Operation Christmas Child Packing Party 2012

Welcome Northwest Indiana Times readers! If you’re now here, here’s a little about me: I’m a British stay at home Mum of 2 now residing in Northwest Indiana who teaches you how to coupon, meal plan, find bargains, and pay it forward on a budget……all while balancing two rambunctious boys. I send out a daily free newsletter with all my latest finds including free things to do in Northwest Indiana and ways to save at Strack’s, Ultra, Meijer and more. Sign up for the newsletter!

Operation Christmas Child is very near and dear to my heart and to some readers too. Every year we have a BIG packing party that involves my family, friends, local church groups and YOU and this year is no different.  This is our Operation Christmas Child 2012 Packing Party.

This year the Mummy Deals Shoebox Goal is 1000 boxes.

That’s 1000 children with nothing.

1000 hearts we can touch and parents we can help.

1000 people we can share the true meaning of Christmas with: Jesus Christ.

1000 people in very poor living conditions.

People like Sebastian and his Mum who I met this year in Ecuador. Please take 90 seconds and watch Operation Christmas Child Operation Christmas Child video that talks about why I do what I do. Then, I’d like to present this year’s needs.

Packing Party Details.

Our packing party is Tuesday November 13 2012 at the South Shore Visitor’s Center in Hammond, Indiana and we need all the goodies by then.  Please RSVP to the party here.  It’s from 6-8pm and we’d love you all to come out, bring your family or your cub scouts or your brownie troops and help us pack 1000 boxes.  it’s a great way to teach your kids about giving especially in this age of materialism and I find they love it and get super involved.  Plus, the South Shore CVA will have their annual Christmas Story exhibit up and running for you to enjoy.

Would you consider partnering with me for people like Sebastian?

Thank you!

Comments

  1. I won’t be able to join the packing party but I have some items I’d like to donate (mostly small toys). Are there any places where we can drop off donations?

  2. Cindy Van Ort says:

I didn’t see an answer to Stephanie- I have shoeboxes and some stuff (not enough to fill all the shoeboxes), and I can’t make the packing party. Can I drop this off somewhere during the weekend?
