Mummy Hearts CVS

Why you may ask? Three simple things:

1) Their Extra Care Bucks last for a whole month so that I have good opportunity to either spend them on silly things or roll them over using them for other ECB items.

2) When you buy their ECB items you don’t pay tax. I guess I suspected this all along but can now confirm it. That means it’s completely free. Totally. Like how cool is that?

3) If they’re out of their ECB items that week they’ll issue you a rain check that never expires. Never. Which means that even in 2 months I can go and grab the items they were out of and don’t have to make a mad dash on Sunday.

Oh, CVS, how you’ve won my heart from another drugstore who hasn’t given me anything free in weeks. I feel divided and yet not. If you’re new to the Drugstore Game and just want to pick one store to “try out” CVS would be my pick right now. I may return to my first love soon but for now I’m lovin CVS.

Hi Clair, I have questions about the Rain Checks for CVS: 1) I understand that they will honor the price, but will they also honor the ECB that goes with it? 2) Do rain check policies vary from store to store depending on the manager? Thanks!

  2. Hey Anonymous:
    1) Yup, it says on there Price: $2, ECBS $2 (for example) so it has to spit it out
    2) It shouldn't but I'm hearing reports that some people aren't getting them. I would ask for a manager and maybe call corporate if you have problems. Mine has been great thus far.

  3. I have had problems getting my local CVS's (two of them) to give me rainchecks on the 3-day sale items for the school supplies. I called corporate and they said yes, they were supposed to give out rainchecks, and they even called the store directly, straightened them out, and said I could now go back and get my rainchecks!

I too have come to LOVE CVS over a certain other drug store *cough*Walgreens*cough* 😉 Not only do they give you a whole month to use the ECB's, but most stores will even take expired ones! (not expired manufacturer coupons, but expired CVS coupons). A few weeks ago I was cleaning out the diaper bag and found one that had expired almost 6 months ago and they took it without a problem! 🙂

So I work at CVS and love that you love the store. I do feel as though we give the store away at times. I did want to mention that while we used to honor expired coupons, most stores do not anymore…they're not supposed to. So don't be surprised if they don't. They do however honor all "competitor" coupons for gift cards, at least in the pharmacy. Those are great if you do get scripts. If you're ever in the old C.P. store, stop in and say hello.
