If you’re looking for some different back to school lunch ideas how about these Mini Pigs in a Blanket? My Hubby loves meat and bread so pigs in a blanket are one of my favorite appetizers to make but I always wrapped a whole crescent roll around one until recently. This time I cut the crescent roll up and wrapped them around mini wieners. Wayyyyyyyyy better than before although it was a little time consuming.

These mini wieners are a perfect snack for kids, good for lunchboxes and…..totally freezeable! Yup! I highly recommend making a batch and freezing some and then you can take them out as needed as I really don’t feel like they need to be warm.

Although they’re great on their own you could serve them with mustard or ketcup for dipping. And now for that recipe!

Mini Pigs in a Blanket

Ingredients

  • Tube of crescent rolls
  • Mini weiners

Instructions

  1. Spray a cookie sheet with PAM and heat the oven up as per crescent roll directions.
  2. Open the tube and cut the rolls into thin strips.
  3. Wrap one piece around one wiener and press tightly to secure.
  4. Place on cookie sheet and then rinse and repeat.
  5. Baker as per the crescent roll directions (around 12-15 minutes)
  6. Serve warm or freeze for another day.
