Mail Call For Veterans

mail

My good friend Holly sent me this email and seeing as I know ya’ll love to pay it forward as much as me I wanted to present you with an easy idea to do that AND get your kiddos involved. Can somebody say win-win?!

Holly and her Hubby will be going on an Honor Flight this April and will be accompanying her dad and a former patient of hers on a one day trip to visit their memorials in Washington, DC. On the return flight, there is a SURPRISE old-fashioned Mail Call. Veterans receive letters and cards expressing thanks & appreciation for their service during the war. My dad is a Korean war veteran and Lee is both a WWII and Korean veteran.

***Ok, stop a second. How cool is that? I’m super giddy thinking about how excited these guys would be and HOW appreciated they would feel if we could do this and take a moment to send them a thank you note for serving. Here’s how:

Address the envelope in the following way:

First line: Charles Vido
Second line: c/o Joan Bortolon
Third line: 57 Country Place
Fourth line: Springfield, IL 62703

First line: Lee Gibson
Second line: c/o Joan Bortolon
Third line: 57 Country Place
Fourth line: Springfield, IL 62703

Additional directions:

1. Please no books, large envelopes or items, framed items, fragile items or anything that is perishable.
2. Multiple cards/letters can be placed in one large envelope addressed as above
3. Letters must reach Joan Bortolon by April 9!

Thank you all so much for participating in this. You can send a card to either of our veterans or if you wish, you may write “Any Veteran” on the first line.

I’m gonna get my kiddos involved in this and ask you to join me in thanking a veteran today.
