My 5 year old is a Star Wars fan so when I heard the Legoland Chicago Star Wars Exhibit was opening I may have been more excited than them to take Isaac! We headed there on Wednesday night for a media preview and had a fabulous time.
About Legoland Chicago Star Wars Exhibit 2013
The Force is strong at LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Chicago as expert model builders prepare to launch the Center’s first-ever LEGO® Star WarsTM Miniland – a large-scale, interactive LEGO model display. It’s a walk-through exhibit which offers an intergalactic immersion into the sights and sounds of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. Guests at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago will be transported from the beautiful rolling hills of Naboo, with its ancient domed city and cascading waterfalls, to the treacherous terrain of the desert planet of Tatooine. Interactive features will offer hands-on fun for even the youngest of Padawans who can take part in a thrilling Podrace with the young Anakin Skywalker and help defeat the evil Droid Army in the ‘Droid Destruction’ game.
The public got to vote for the theme for the one they most wanted to see turned into a large-scale interactive exhibit. Nearly 400 votes were cast with the Star Wars theme receiving an overwhelming majority of votes.
“LEGO Star Wars has always been a fan favorite, and the feedback we received from the public vote was just incredible,” said Johnson. “Now comes the really tricky part: building it.”
Legoland Discovery Center Star Wars Review
We are big Legoland fans. Isaac is a little boy who loves Legos, loves construction and loves racing his cars on their ramps so a trip there is always worth it. The Star Wars exhibit was awesome to look at and see but the interactive idea wasn’t ideal. With only 4 kids able to actually play at any one time on all 3 displays, the waiting was a little long and we went on a non-busy night. I realize it was expensive to build but it would have been nice if they could have built something that more kids could have played with at any one time.
