Homemade Steak Rub Homemade For Dad

Homemade For Dad

I’ve been blogging a bunch of Father’s Day gift ideas that are homemade for Dad items that your kids can make. Lots of them are along the grilling theme and today’s is one that would go super cute with the Handmade Grill Mitts that I blogged earlier and are pictured.

This is Homemade Meat Rub or Meat Seasoning and is easy to make and contains no added yuckiness as basically you blend together a bunch of spices. I had Isaac (5) measure the spices and use the mini chopper so that he could make Dad a gift. Now sadly silly Mummy left it out on the shelf and Isaac told his Dad but ahhhhhh….such is my blog life! Nobody gets a secret homemade gift from me. Anyway, I made a cute label and attached it that reads, “Tim’s Meat Seasoning” – very manly looking! I thought about making you free printable to go with it but had no clue how so here goes the homemade meat rub recipe instead!

Homemade Meat Rub

  • 4 TBS pepper
  • 2 TBS sea salt
  • 2 TBS garlic powder
  • 2 TBS onion powder
  • 2 TBS parsley flakes, dried
  • 2 TBS paprika
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp cumin

  1. Combine ingredients together in a mini chopper and "buzz" for a couple of minutes.
  2. Pour into a medium sized mason jar.
  3. Makes about 8oz to rub on approximately 8 steaks or pork chops or other meat.
  4. Attach a label and ribbon.
