Homemade Furniture Polish

Making your own natural cleaners, including this homemade furniture polish, is a very fulfilling thing for us moms. We can get rid of so many toxins in our household by ditching the store bought stuff, as well as saving quite a bit of money in the process.  Using Young Living essential oils in the products we make has its perks, too. They are very potent and so they go a long way, they smell great, and they can have wonderful health benefits as well.

Lemon essential oil is one that is perfect for any cleaner, from cleaning out your body system itself, to using it like a goo-gone type cleaner, or in an all-purpose spray. It breaks down toxins naturally, so it should always be a go-to oil.  Cedarwood is another essential oil with great health benefits, from supporting your respiratory system to being great for your skin and great for cleaning, as well as a perfect aroma to blend with the lemon.

If you don’t have cedarwood, you can use another wood type oil, such as pine.

To make a natural wood polish, you will need:

  • 8 oz. spray bottle
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • ¼ cup vinegar
  • 10 drops cedarwood essential oil

Combine your essential oils in the bottle first, and then top off with the evoo and the vinegar. Shake really well to blend and then spray on any wood surface and then wipe down with a soft rag.
