Making your own seasoning blends can be really fun to do and is a great thing especially for foodies, and to teach your kids as well. This homemade all purpose seasoning is tasty on almost anything you cook from meat to rice or in slow cooker recipes.
Adding in the essential oils gives added health benefits and when you are using black pepper, as in this recipe, it is a wonderful oil not only for those benefits but because it enhances the flavors of anything you blend it with. Black pepper also helps to build your immune system. How great is it to be able to have that bonus go right into the foods you eat?
Homemade All Purpose Seasoning with Essential Oils
What you will need to make this All Purpose Seasoning
- Small glass spice bottle of your choice, about a 4 ounce size.
- 1 oz. Himalayan salt
- 2 oz. Sea salt
- 1 tbsp. Onion powder
- 2 tsp. Garlic powder
- 3 drops pure black pepper essential oil. I use this brand.
Measure out all dry ingredients and blend well in small bowl, then add in your essential oils and blend again thoroughly. Let dry a few hours, stirring every once in a while to be sure the oils are all dry before adding lid to jar. For a slightly different twist, add 2 drops rosemary also.
