Free Kid’s Glasses at Target

Angie sent me this:
I’ve been informed by two people today that Target is giving away free glasses to kids under 12 this month. One friend was there yesterday (unaware of the promotion) and found out about this. I was also forwarded info about it from another friend who knows a couple people who have already received the glasses. If the child has a valid prescription, it will be absolutely free, if not, they will need an eye exam first. My friend was told this promotion is only being run in Indiana and one other state. I can’t find any info online about it, but assume people can call their local Target optical dept for info.

I haven’t had a chance to check where else this is run so if anyone can shed any light on it, please let me know!

  1. I called the closest Target Optical (Valpo) and Melissa told me that it only applies to the stores in the Indy area and only with a special postcard that is mailed to the homes of certain customers.

  2. My friend who told me about it lives in the Indy area, I didn't realize it was limited to here. Unaware of the program, she went for a refit of her glasses, the employee told her about it and gave her a voucher, so I don't know that you have to get it in the mail (he also told her they were getting a couple hundred more in soon). Suppose those in the Indy area need to call or stop by the closest one to find out. Lori, thanks for the additional info, I was just passing on what I knew from my friend.
