Garfield Park Conservatory on Chicago’s west side is one of the largest and most stunning conservatories in the nation. Through January 11, the lovely Show House, will glow with twinkling lights and festive holiday plants and greenery as part of the Winter 2008 Holiday Traditions Show. Then the Spring Flower Show moves in from January 31 through May 10.
Catch Lincoln Park Conservatory’s Winter Flower & Train Show. Through January 4, four model trains will wind their way through a miniature village made of willow, birch and other natural materials. The village features Chicago-style homes and city landmarks. Then the Spring Flower Show runs January 24 through May 10 and features azaleas, hydrangeas, and other springtime blooms.
Both Garfield Park Conservatory and Lincoln Park Conservatory are open 365 days a year and are always free.
