FREE Admission to Lake County Fair

Rachel sent me this for you local folks looking for some FREE fun for the kiddos before school:

Lake County, IN fair, but it is going on until Sunday August 16. Admission and parking are free until 3pm on weekdays. We go just about every day, and the kids have a blast. There are barns and buildings full of 4-H animals that kids can look at and learn about. Sometimes there are even shows and presentations! The entire fair is a show of kids’ work throughout the year. They can start in Kindergarten, and it goes all the way through high school. The Farm Bureau has some great kid friendly exhibits, the Sheriff’s Department makes kid IDs, there are fishing ponds, and a building full of adult projects. My kids especially like the Industrial Building, which they told me was filled with SWAG! (SWAG to 6 & 8 year olds consists of pencils, erasers, stickers, and tattoos.) New this year is a free petting zoo on the midway. The fair is a wonderful fun and educational trip that the kids will remember. Daily schedules and more information can be found at
