English Recipe Corner – Healthy Treat

Here’s the weekly recipe from my Mum! Thanks, Mum!

HAWORTH FRUIT AND HONEY BARS

10.5OZ PORRIDGE OATS
3.5OZ BROWN SUGAR
1 AND A HALF TBSP THIN HONEY
3.5OZ MIXED DRIED FRUIT EG. MANGO/RAISINS/ CURRANTS/PINEAPPLE
3.5OZ UNSALTED BUTTER

  • Heat oven to 350
  • Line a shallow baking tin with parchment paper
  • Put oats sugar and honey into a large bowl add fruit and stir well
  • Melt butter in pan over low heat and then pour into mixture and mix thoroughly
  • Turn the mixture into a lined tin and spread evenly. Press down firmly with back of spoon
  • Bake for 15 to 20 mins until golden brown
  • Leave to cool in tin and then cut into squares

Plenty of goodness for people on the go and children who cant be bothered with breakfast!!!
