English Recipe Corner: Flapjack

As English as a good cuppa char, Flapjacks are a dessert/pastry usually served with (of course!) char (AKA tea!) Thanks, Angela for this!

4oz butter
4oz brown sugar
1tsp of golden syrup (can get this at Meijer, Marsh, maybe even Jewel or Trader Joe’s). You could try and substitute molasses.
150g porridge oats
Handful of raisins or chocolate chips if you desire.


  1. Mix (it does help if you microwave the butter and golden syrup for about 45 seconds) all the ingredients and place in a small square pan
  2. Bake at 325*F for about 35 min or until lightly brown.
  3. Allow to cool and then cut and enjoy!
