Week 2 of Shetland Island recipes, thanks Mum!

SHETLAND BANNOCKS

Ingredients

8 oz plain flour
half teaspoon baking powder
2 oz margarine
half teaspoon salt
half teaspoon cream of tartar
buttermilk

Method

  1. Sift dry ingredients and rub in margarine
  2. Add buttermilk and mix to soft dough
  3. Knead on floured board and cut into sections like triangles
  4. Bake for 15 mins in preheated oven 450/230/gas7
  5. Great served hot with butter
