Ecuador 2012 Trip In Photos

At the end of February I was very honored to have been asked to accompany the Operation Christmas Child team on a trip of a lifetime to Ecuador to help distribute shoeboxes to impoverished kids. Although Samaritan’s Purse works with many American relief projects, OCC is an international project delivering hope and Jesus to kids some of whom have never seen a toy and struggle daily to eat. Can you imagine?

I couldn’t take my family and knew it would be a tough emotional trip but I also knew it would help me better understand the process and how we here in America can help. Each child is precious and each child needs to know there’s hope. OCC is an amazing organization that shows kids all over the world love.

I took my kids (Isaac – 4 and Chase -1) to the store and let Isaac pick out toys. A couple of friends gave me items and then I got to hand-deliver a box to a little boy named Sebastian. Yeah, I cried and even his Mum and the translator were teary-eyed. It was an amazing trip and the best thing to do is show you it in pictures.

  1. How WONDERFUL!!! Thank for sharing! I will have to pass on the part about the letters to my church. We also do this in our church and the boxes go and I’m not sure how muych thought is put into what happens next. If it is OK with you I would like to share your story with my church. Thanks again for all you do!!
