Caribou Coffee Earth Day 2013

Taltree Aboretum Earth Day 2013
Celebrate Earth Day by appreciating northwest Indiana’s ecology at Taltree Arboretum & Gardens. Two hikes will be offered at a discounted price on Monday, April 22. Hikers must call to reserve a spot in either the 10:30 am – noon hike or the 1 – 2:30 pm hike.
Hikes will go through Taltree’s woodlands, wetlands and prairies. Cost for this guided Earth Day hike is $1 per child and $2.50 for adults. Teachers can register their entire class and pay only for the students! Hikers must pre-register by calling 219-462-0025 or vising the Taltree website.
Brookfield Zoo Earth Day 2013
Every day is Earth Day at Brookfield Zoo, but the zoo is hoping to make a big impact on this very special day by having people not only thinking “green” but also black and white as it raises awareness about endangered Grevy’s zebras. This year’s Earth Day celebration will be on Sunday, April 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will feature fun-filled activities for the entire family, including electronic recycling, live musical performances, crafts, tree and seed plantings, tours of the Clean Air Club Bus, animal Zoo Chats, and more.

Brookfield Zoo’s Zooper Fun Pass is $31.95 for adults and $23.95 for children 3-11 and seniors 65 and over. General zoo admission may also be purchased and is $15 for adults and $10.50 for children three to 11 and seniors 65 and over. Children 2 and under are free. Parking is $10.
Exelon’s Friends of the Parks Day
Friends of the Parks – 24th Annual Earth Day is a Parks & Preserves Clean-up on Saturday, April 20, 2013, 9 a.m. – Noon
Friends of the Parks believes every day should be Earth Day. In order to come together as a community each spring, Friends of the Parks hosts its annual Earth Day Parks & Preserves Clean-up. Join volunteers to clean and green a neighborhood park or preserve from 9:00AM – Noon on Saturday, April 20th. Most sites will have extra work gloves – but you may want to bring your own to insure you have a pair. T-Shirts will be given on a first come, first served basis. Earth Day Festival & Farmers Market – Carol Stream, IL
Presented by the Carol Stream Park District & The Village of Carol Stream on Sat Apr 20, 10am-2pm, at Town Center, Gary Ave & Lies Rd, Carol Stream. The Forest Preserve of Cook County is hosting a free Earth Day event at the Little Red School House on Saturday April 20th, from 10am to 2pm. The event will include activities to teach people how to become better Earth keepers. Come for the events and explore the nature center and surrounding hiking paths.
Free Day at Graue Mill – Hinsdale, IL
On Sunday, April 21, Earth Day Graue Mill will have Free Admission Day. Join the Garden Study Club of Hinsdale to make a “Grass-A-Pillar,” a grassy caterpillar from rye seed.
