DIY Lavender Laundry Soap

Lavender Laundry Soap MD

If you’re looking for homemade laundry detergent this DIY Lavender Laundry Soap is a great easy recipe! Made with Young Living’s Lavender Oil this will make your clothes smell great as well as getting them clean. Plus….it’s super cheap!

I like the powder laundry detergent I blogged here but I was looking for a quick and easy liquid one that didn’t require soap grating.  Once I discovered Dr. Bronners castile soap I pretty much grab it for every cleaner I make now.

Once you buy the ingredients you’ll have a ton of it for other batches and as it makes so much it’ll cost you around $3 for two gallons or around 96 loads!

DIY Lavender Laundry Soap

  • 3/4 cup of castile soap
  • 1/2 cup washing soda
  • 1/3 cup of borax OR baking soda

  1. Grab a 2 gallon bucket and pour lukewarm water in the bottom about an inch high.
  2. Add the borax and washing soda
  3. Add more water to cover the powders and then use a hand mixer or immersion blender to mix.
  4. Now fill the bucket up with tap water.
  5. Add the castile soap and stir with a long spoon.
  6. Add in your Young Living Lavender Oil. I added about 4 drops but you could do more.
  7. Use a funnel and pour into containers.
  8. When you need it use about 1/3 of a cup.
