Deep River Grinders: FREE Admittance To A Different Kind Of Baseball

This is one of the coolest FREE events I’ve come across thanks to my friends at South Shore CVA! The Deep River Grinders in Northwest Indiana play baseball but not any old game!

Enjoy free admittance to a game of Base Ball according to the rules of the 1858. At mid nineteenth century, base ball was an amateur game played by distinguished gentlemen. The Deep River Grinders, umpire, and tally keeper can all be found in period attire. The game the Grinders play is similar to the game played today, with some notable differences. The Grinders play at Deep River County Park in Hobart. Check the website for schedule.
