CVS Not Accepting Competitor’s Rx Coupons?

A recent trip to a local CVS pharmacy in Northwest Indiana was met with a polite, “Sorry we no longer accept competitor’s Rx coupons.” As I was standing with my valuable $30 Meijer coupon I’d been sent and wanted to fill a prescription at CVS instead of hauling two kids to Meijer, I wasn’t happy but my CVS buddy told me she’d not heard anything official. Dismissing it as a local procedure I put it out of my mind until another friend told me she’d try at her local store and they’d told her the same thing.

An email to corporate about this is getting me nowhere so I throw it out there to you as a question: Anyone else noticed this? I’m thinking it’s coming down the pipeline for 2012.

For those of you wondering what I’m talking about normally CVS will accept competitor’s Rx coupons to avoid you traveling elsewhere.

  1. Hey Claire! It’s funny you post this because I’m scouring the internet trying to find my prescription cheaper online. My doctor actually suggested I try ordering from Canada! Do you have any experience here? 🙂

  2. That is the new CVS policy – they are not accepting competitors Rx coupons.
