Why Crock Pot French Toast Rocks!

I wanted an overnight breakfast recipe so Crock Pot French Toast was born. I love the idea of making breakfast or brunch but am not going to wake up at 4am to do it. With this french toast you make it the night before and then just place the pot in your slow cooker and cook for 3 hours on low. This serves 6-8 people.

The other thing about this is although there’s butter and sugar in it it’s got egg whites and uses honey instead of syrup (my new go-to!) as well as using low calorie bread. If you split it 6 ways each piece would be under 5 Weight Watchers Points Plus.

Crock Pot French Toast

  • 1/4 cup of butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 TBS cinnamon
  • 12 slices of Healthy Life or similar bread
  • 5 egg whites beaten lightly
  • 1 1/2 cups of milk
  • honey

  1. Grease your crock pot VERY well.
  2. In a bowl combine the butter, brown sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Add a 1/3 of the mix to the bottom of teh crock pot.
  4. Place 6 slices of bread on top, overlapping.
  5. Add another 1/3 of the mix to that.
  6. Finish off with 6 slices of bread and the mix on top.
  7. In a bowl mix the eggs and milk together and pour over the top, pressing the bread down.
  8. Place the pot with a lid on in your fridge overnight.
  9. Pull out in the morning and cook on low for 3 hours or until the eggs are set.
  10. Serve with honey and berries.
  11. OPTIONAL: Add 1 cup of berries to the pot after the first layer of bread.

  1. I am titally going to make this!! One Q though…I always thought syrup was healthier than honey?

    • Honey is so good for you because it’s natural whereas syrup usually comes full of sugar or high fructose corn syrup.
