Cheap Domain Names

UPDATE: Please read comments below!!

If you’re a small business thinking of buying a domain name there’s some crazy deals out right now:

* Yahoo has the domain name at $1.99 for the first year. Details here.

* GoDaddy.com is offering a new one-year domain name registration for $.99 cents via coupon code “LOVE99”. A $.20 ICANN fee applies.

Speaking of domain names, you may have noticed this week was a little harder to access me at blogspot as I bought www.mummydeals.org. My friend Candi had a hard time writing down the old address for 9 people she stood in line with at Walgreens who couldn’t believe she bought a ton of stuff for only $.38!! She was the one that begged me to switch!
Which also reminds me, if you’d like business cards for my site (my friend Lisa D wanted me to make them downloadable but I ain’t that clever!), please email me and I’ll hook you up!

Thanks for this info! I was planning on doing research today to find a cheap way to get our blog- meal planning mommies a domain name. Glad I checked your site first!

I will definitely be signing up today!

  3. I did find out that the godaddy deal has expired. So sad! So I went to check out the yahoo deal.

Go daddy is 9.99 for a year
and yahoo has a deal where it is $1.99 for the first year. While it seems like yahoo is the better deal- it really isn’t.

If you read the fine print, yahoo is going to be $35 a year after your first year. So if you plan on keeping your domain name- I wouldn’t do the yahoo deal.

Godaddy.com is just $10.99 a year after the first year.

    Hope this helps!

  4. I just bought my domain http://www.frugalrimama.com from blogger. It’s $10 a year and they redirect without any problems. So if the other deals aren’t that great then those looking might want to look into blogger. HTH!
