I recently made my Mother in Law’s Crock Pot Broccoli Soup and boy are you in for a treat! As well as being good for broccoli you can also use the same recipe for Crock Pot Cauliflower Soup.
It’s that time of year to grab a blanket and a movie and snuggle on the couch. What better way than with some good ole comfort food: soup. This is Mama Boone’s recipe.
Here is a favorite of mine. Serve it with a sandwich or warm fresh, homemade bread! When you see a sale on the broccoli or cauliflower, chop it up, measure it, and freeze it for later use.
Crock Pot Cauliflower Soup Ingredients
- 6 cups water
- 9-12 teaspoons chicken bouillion
- 1 medium onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 8 cups broccoli or cauliflower
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- ½ teaspoon thyme, optional
Add the above ingredients into your crock pot and cook on low for 4 hours.
1 stick margarine
Then stirring until there are no lumps mix:
½ – 1 cup flour
1 quart milk
Add milk and flour mixture to soup. Stir and cook until thickened. Makes a large pot!
