Back To School Tax Free Shopping Dates 2012

According to the Federation of Tax Administrators and Kiplinger 17 States will have sales tax holidays this year but there will be no Illinois Tax Free Days and no Indiana Tax free days :(  Lots of states do this every year to coincide with back-to-school sales to help you save.

  1. Mississippi: July 27-28. Purchases of clothing and footwear less than $100 exempt.
  2. Alabama: August 3-5. Purchases of clothing (up to $100), computers ($750), school supplies ($50) and books ($30) exempt.
  3. Arkansas: August 4-5. Purchases of clothing less than $100 and school supplies are exempt.
  4. Connecticut: August 19-25. Purchases of clothing and footwear less than $300 exempt.
  5. Florida: August 3-5. Purchases of clothing ($75) and school supplies ($15) exempt.
  6. Georgia: August 10-11. Purchases of clothing ($100), computers ($1,000) and school supplies ($20) exempt.
  7. Iowa: August 3-4. Purchases of clothing and footwear less than $100 exempt.
  8. Louisiana: August 3-4. Most items less than $2,500 exempt.
  9. Maryland: August 12-18. Purchases of clothing and footwear $100 or less exempt.
  10. Missouri: August 3-5. Purchases of clothing ($100), computers ($3,500) and school supplies ($50) exempt.
  11. New Mexico: August 3-5. Purchases of clothing (less than $100), computers ($1,000) and school supplies ($15) exempt.
  12. North Carolina: August 3-5. Purchases of clothing ($100), computers ($3,500), school supplies ($100) and sports equipment ($50) exempt.
  13. Oklahoma: August 3-5. Purchases of clothing and footwear less than $100 exempt.
  14. South Carolina: August 3-5. Purchases of clothing, computers and school supplies exempt.
  15. Tennessee: August 3-5. Purchases of clothing ($100), computers ($1,500) and school supplies ($100) exempt.
  16. Texas: August 17-19. Purchases of clothing, footwear, backpacks and school supplies less than $100 exempt.
  17. Virginia: August 3-5. Purchases of clothing and footwear ($100) and school supplies ($20) exempt.

UPDATE: Goldstar also have Legoland Chicago Tickets for 50% off!  Legoland Discovery Center, Chicago is usually around $16 but start at just under $8 with this deal.
