5 Essential Tools For Bloggers

Blogging Tools

If you’re new to the blogging world, you’ll have realized by now that there’s a lot to learn which is why I offer 5 Essential Tools For Bloggers. Should you pin, Tweet, Google+, Blog, LinkIn or Facebook? Or a combo of all? Do you spend hours blogging only to find that you’re left with nothing at the end of the day in which to really connect with readers.  {In answer to the latter: always your readers! It’s more fun!}

I’ve been blogging for over 4 years and although I’m in no means an expert I’ve learned some things along the way and decided to offer some suggestions.

1) Get on Pinterest.

Do it, do it now! Pin your ideas, pin other ideas and connect. Better yet buy the book Pinterest Power. Seriously I know I sound bossy but you’ll thank me later as it’s really helped me in errr……one week!  Please find me on Pinterest  and then leave a comment below if you’d like me to follow you back.

2) Make Your Site Pretty.

If your site isn’t pretty people won’t stick around and one inexpensive way to keep them coming back is through an awesome designer who gets it. Guess what? I know one! Head to Pixel Me Designs and tell Laura I sent you. I don’t really get anything from it except her good graces!

3) Social Spark.

I’ve been earning money blogging about interesting products & services via SocialSpark. Once I got a free pair of jeans to try and review and just recently I received money to go by some deli meat to try. When I try the opps I get paid to write the review too and it’s been nice to earn a little money blogging. Be sure to sign up here!

Another place to connect with brands and get opportunities is Sverve.  Sign up and start connecting!

4) Refer a Friend

When I see a good deal I tell all my IRL friends and it’s the same with blogging. Although you’ll never catch me recommending garbage I don’t believe in, I love recommending things that have worked for our family and sometimes those net me a small referral fee. {Read: small which is why I have to believe in them not be trying to rip off my readers!} I particularly love:

  1. Vitacost: Your reader gets $10 off a purchase and you get a $10 credit. S-weet!
  2. Ibotta – Ibotta is a free mobile app that gives consumers a new way to earn money when they shop. Ibotta pays users cash for learning about their favorite products on their phone or tablet before they go shopping.
  3. Shopkick – Shopkick is a FREE Android and iPhone app that I have been using for about 2 months now. Shopkick gives you access to exclusive deals to stores like Best Buy, Target, Macy’s & Toys ‘R Us.  I’ve been using it for a few months now.
  4. Endorse – Endorse is an application that lets you endorse the products and companies you love, the purchase those products and turn around and submit your proof of purchases for CASH! This is my FAVE for sure as I’ve already got back over $30!

5) Make Friends.

The minute I started making blogging friends and participating in blog linkies, my blog got noticed more, I gained more confidence and was exposed to other people’s great ideas so get out there and get linking. I love Skip to My Lou on Mondays, Mandy’s Recipe Box on Tuesdays, Full Plate Thursdays at Miz Helen’s and of course our very Pinteresting link up on Thursday nights at 8pm.

What tips would you offer a new blogger?
